I was inspired as a young boy, watching internationally renowned artist David Paynter restore the murals at the Trinity College Chapel. Despite my love for painting, cicumstances led me to enter the Rubber Trade ending up as a Director in the Rubber department at Forbes and Walker (Pvt) Ltd, having hardly any spare time to invest in painting. Following early retirement, I finally got the opportunity to pursue my passion for painting.This was the turning point that led me to my present work. I aspire to capture the pulse of the Sri Lankan way of life through ‘weather beaten lines’ to ‘heartfelt smiles through hard times’.The genre can vary from portraits to landscapes to life events. Mediums used are oils, charcoals and water colour. I have exhibited my paintings at a national level and have sold my paintings both locally and internationally.
