Acrylic on raw cotton. I saw her first on Chitra Alles Fernando's studio, this time while getting painted it on the studio. It seems to be that it is a reproduction of what Mrs. V B Wijeyeratne has done, as far as I can remember. This too was in my mind to do in future but took long time to complete. My version of queen's portrait was based on sketch made by William Daniel in 1800's. . . Good amount of research went on to this, specially South Indian, low country and Kandyan jewellery. And also how South Indian women pierce their ear coz oringinal sketch shows just a chunk of earing for the 3 ear piercing shown in here. So, I believe I hv done justice to the original sketch by adding local elements to it. For note, I kept the multi strand chokher of the original.
