The artwork is based on the Sinhalese saying “Monawada Balanne? Mune Pereherak Yanawada? (What are you looking at? Is there a Perehera going in my face?) mentioned when a person keeps looking at ones face. In the case of the artwork, there is a Perehera in the middle of the face. However, the Perehera consists of individuals attending the Perehera holding guns, which represents the Sinhala-Buddhist culture being implemented through militarization during recent times.
