‘Disappearing’ is an original Acrylic dhyptic painting of the once widespread and formidable Black-Rhino of Africa. Bringing this beautiful subject to ‘Life’ has been a labor of love and pleasure. About 130hrs of work have gone into each individual painting. Which work as a dhyptic together or could stands as a single piece . This was inspired by the immense vulnerable state this magnificent animal’s population is in. Only being the second largest land animal next to the elephant. ‘Overall this species is classified as critically endangered (even though the South western Black Rhinoceros is classified as vulnerable). Three subspecies have been declared extinct, including the western Black rhinoceros. Which was declared extinct by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
